This annual celebration represents Rio Dell's heritage with logging events, a parade, and more. Wildwood Days in Rio Dell is summer fun for the entire family. Festivities include: softball, kids games, the fireman's muster, logging competition, fire truck rides, car show, live music, lots of food, parade, and more! It all starts on Wednesday with a late afternoon auto cruise followed with entertainment and dining alfresco at popular DJ's Burger Bar. Thursday is kids day downtown with the traditional late afternoon penny scramble, fire truck rides, firemen's hose relay, kids games and a talent show; hopefully an exciting day ending at the fire hall teen dance. Vendors will have booths with articles for sale during Wildwood Days. Friday will feature vendors all day in Firemen's' Park, King of the Grill competition, then firemen's muster downtown followed by the evening adult dance at the fire hall. Saturday morning will start with a bang with sign-in for bocce ball competition, women's softball tourney, Wildwood Days fun run, book sale by the Friends of the Library, vendors' fair, hay rides, Farmer's Market, music festival in the park, the high noon parade honoring parade marshals (yet to be selected), and in the afternoon and evening there will be kids games, bouncers, riding mower qualifying race, and a spaghetti feed in the early evening. The finale consists of a lawn mower race, and a Texas hold 'em poker competition in the fire hall. Sunday morning will feature a women's softball tournament, car show and shine, Eel River duck race, vendor fair, book sale by Friends of the Library, logging show, line dancing, a parade with floats and grand marshals, and the traditional firefighters barbeque. The Scotia Band will present its 74th anniversary band performance, followed by an impressive firemen's gift auction.
