About Weitchpec
The town of Weitchpec California was originally the site of an ancient and highly-respected Yurok Indian Village. The Yurok Indian tribe saw this location as one of hallowed ground and thus protected their turf through every means necessary. Finally, the Easterners who came by the thousands to find gold and fortune were able to wrestle control of the Weitchpec California location away from the Yurok Indians.
The town of Weitchpec California although basically a small village, offers a great getaway for anyone desiring to experience a wonderful northern California vacation. Situated in north-western Humboldt County, this lovely hamlet is a nature lovers dream! Not one but two of the most beautiful and important rivers in all of California confluence here, the Klamath River and the Trinity River. There are only a handful of places to grab a bite to eat while in Weitchpec and is primarily known as a stop-over point for those adventurers wanting to continue on. The town of Weitchpec California is a perfect and environmentally friendly location for you and your family.
