Humboldt County Camping


Humboldt County is situated in the northernmost coast of California. Its recreational areas and parks are located along the Pacific Ocean and the Eel and Mad rivers. For this reason, it includes several beaches, Redwood forests, and places for guests to camp.

Humboldt County visitors can enjoy picnicking, swimming, boating, camping, clamming, and fishing in these beautiful parks. You can camp with your dog by paying an extra $2, which is hardly nothing compared to the amount of fun you will be experiencing.

Most campsites accommodate a maximum of ten people so make your bookings early. Cooking facilities are also available though it’s allowed only in metal rings and barbecues.

Camp Sequoia

There are many summer camps held for kids such as Camp Sequoia, Camp Ryan, Camp Carson and many more. Kids can meet different people, make new friends, and also can learn how to adjust in the outdoors and learn the right camping techniques. There are loads of activities including hiking, games, field trips, scavenger hunts. Cultural activities, arts and crafts are also provided by these camps.

Other Parks

There are many campgrounds throughout Humboldt County, namely Burlington Campground, Gold Bluffs Beach Campground, Albee Creek Campground, Elk Prairie Campground, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park Campground. They also boast tons of excitement and adventure.

Humboldt Redwoods State Park

Humboldt Redwoods State Park was formed in 1921 and has remained unspoiled. Wide ranges of activities are available; in three campgrounds there are more than 250 campsites are present including group camps and horse camps. Visitors can participate in fishing, swimming, boating in South Fork Eel River, horseback riding, hiking, biking and can also enjoy the simplicity of the nature. Travelers should be prepared for different climatic condition as well.

Benbow Lake State Recreation Area

Benbow Lake State Recreation Area is one of the most sought after places for people to visit during summer camping, picnicking, and hiking.
